How close are you to Ocean City?
Our launch site is just 10 minutes south of Ocean City's Rt. 50 Bridge.
Do I need experience kayaking?
No, we provide instruction at the beginning of the tours. We paddle on flat, protected water as much as possible. Most people have no problem. We go slowly, but some degree of coordination and physical ability is required. We will be on the water for at least two hours. Experienced or very active children may be able to paddle single kayaks. Smaller, less experienced children may do better paddling a double kayak with an adult.
How long are we actually paddling?
Our Discovery Tour is 2.5 hours which is only about 1.5-2 miles. This trip is great for people that are new to kayaking. After you realize how easy kayaking is, you will be ready for longer trips.
Do I need to know how to swim?
No, the water we paddle in is very shallow, in between 2-3 feet. Everyone must wear a life-jacket, and wading is optional.
Will we get wet?
You can expect some dripping from your paddle. You should expect for your feet to get wet. You have the option of getting in or out of your kayak when we stop. We use Perception Prodigy 10 and 12 foot kayaks, as well as Tandems.
What should I bring?
• Appropriate footwear (sandal that straps around ankle, old tennis shoes etc)
• Water Bottle
• Sun Glasses
• Hat or Visor
• Bathing Suit--sometimes we get wet!
• Sunscreen and insect repellent
• Jacket (if the weather appears to be cool)
• Towels and change of clothing to leave in the car
• Camera if waterproof
Where do we meet?
See our Directions page. Detailed directions will be e-mailed along with your reservation confirmation.
What type of kayaks do we use?
You have a choice of a single or double kayak. Our fleet consists of brand new, top of line boats. What will I see?
Each trip is different. Go to the Tours Section of the website to read about them. Viewing wildlife is always unpredictable which makes each encounter so unique. No Guarantees are made pertaining to viewing wildlife, however, 90% of out trips encounter bands of the Wild Horses. We strive to make your experience unique and memorable.
How many people are on a kayaking trip?
Group size depends. You may paddle with only 2 other people, or up to 16. Except for special groups, we usually limit group size to 14 people. We will always have 1 guide for every 5 participants.
